I’m the criminal justice reporter at WPLN News, Nashville Public Radio. I’m especially interested in juvenile justice, gun culture, and the ways that health intersects with criminal justice – like the criminalization of addiction, and abortion.
Before moving to Middle Tennessee, I covered public health and criminal justice in Ohio, and was awarded Ohio’s Associated Press Reporter of the Year in 2019. In 2020 my coverage of Columbus Police was awarded best investigative reporting by Ohio’s Associated Press.
I have worked in the newsrooms of NPR, Vox, Michigan Radio, WHYY and The Tennessean, and my work has appeared nationally in ProPublica, The Washington Post, Marketplace, PRI’s The World, USA Today and more.
